As known, burn accident could be happened at anytime and numerous places which is generally caused by negligence factors.  Fire: one of the factors as the major cause of burn accidents – which usually reffered to as a human best friend, suddenly changed to disasters. Similar to the electricity, chemicals, petroleum, bensin, gas and some other elements that are so close to human’s daily activities, while unwittingly also an enemy that must be cautious.

Burn injury is not a disease – but it is a disease that caused by the accident. According to Dr. Poengki Dwi Poerwantoro, SpBP: “…. burns is a human body that wounded by a high heat substance or that can trigger high temperatures, either because of chemical reaactions and physical reactions” (Serba Serbi Luka Bakar dan Tatalaksana Mutakhir – Mini Symposium Luka Bakar RSPP: 26 Januari 2008).

As one of the problems on health sector in this country: in fact, there are so many burn accidents happened and experienced by various layers of society. The effect that caused by burn accidents is formidable and need a very serious treatment. The burn victims are not only feel the extraordinary pain, but also lead them to physical disability and psychological distress that prolonged. Even most of the burn accidents can caused death to the victim.

Based on the high level of burn injury, there should be attempted a socialization and understanding about the dangers and consequences of burn accident. The other thing that must be a priority is the effort to instill awareness and change behavior of various layers of the residents, and always cautious and avoid the occurrence of burn accidents in the neighborhood. Because, generally, burn accidents could be caused by human hegligence factors.
